About Yakima Training Center

Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) is located in Washington State, near the city of Tacoma. Home to both Army and Air Force units, JBLM supports over 40,000 active-duty service members, with the 7th Infantry Division, I Corps, and the 62nd Airlift Wing stationed there. Established in 2010 after merging Fort Lewis and McChord Air Force Base, JBLM plays a vital role in power projection, rapid mobility, and training across the globe. In addition to its operational missions, the base offers a wide range of amenities, including housing, medical services, education, and recreational activities for military personnel and their families.

  • Housing Options: Yakima Training Center does not provide on-base housing, but personnel can find temporary lodging or housing in the nearby city of Yakima.
