VA Home Loan COE Eligibility Estimator

Estimate whether you’re likely to qualify for a VA home loan Certificate of Eligibility (COE). This is not an official VA determination.

VA’s minimum for service members is typically 90 continuous days (without a break).

National Guard and Reserve eligibility can hinge on Title 10/Title 32 details and “creditable years.”

Surviving spouse eligibility can depend on DIC status and remarriage timing. If unsure, requesting a COE is the fastest way to get an official determination.

Note: “Basic entitlement” is about the guaranty amount shown on the COE for smaller loan amounts. If you’ve used VA before, your COE may also show entitlement charged. (This is a simplified question.)

Sources & notes
  • Minimum service requirements vary by service period, duty status, and exceptions.
  • VA does not set a minimum credit score, but lenders may.
  • Your COE shows entitlement; “full entitlement” doesn’t override lender underwriting.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes VA Loan Network different from other VA loan resources?

VA Loan Network was built for Veterans who deserve more than a call center experience. Every lender in our network has over 10 years of VA-specific lending experience, with a track record of funding loans that others overlook. We specialize in manual underwriting, lower credit scores, and proper loan structuring — not quick denials or cookie-cutter approvals. Here, you’ll work with someone who understands VA guidelines inside and out — a real expert who knows how to get you to the closing table, even when others can’t.

How do I know if I’m eligible for a VA loan?

Eligibility for a VA loan is generally determined by your military service. If you’re a veteran, active-duty service member, or reservist, you may qualify. Our team can help verify your eligibility and guide you through the entire process, including securing your Certificate of Eligibility (COE).

Are there any upfront costs or hidden fees when applying for a VA loan?

No. One of the major benefits of VA loans is that they require no down payment, and there’s no private mortgage insurance (PMI). While you may encounter typical closing costs, our specialized VA lender will ensure transparency and help minimize any potential expenses.

How long does it take to get approved for a VA loan through VA Loan Network?

Our network of lenders will take your application over the phone, ensuring a personalized and convenient experience. They are available 7 days a week and specialize in providing same-day approvals. This streamlined process ensures that you receive timely updates and can move forward quickly with your VA loan.

About VA Loan Network

VA Loan Network, Role and How It Works

VA Loan Network is a Veteran owned service helping Veterans and Service Members get the guidance they deserve when exploring VA home loans. We are not a lender and not a government agency. When you request help, we connect you with an experienced VA loan officer who can walk you through next steps and lender disclosures if you choose to apply.

What We Are

  • Experience: Our VA loan specialists have hands on experience helping Veterans and Service Members navigate the VA home loan process with confidence and clear expectations.
  • Veteran Owned and Operated: As a Veteran owned service, we understand the VA home loan benefit and the realities of Military life. Our mission is to serve those who served.
  • VA Loan Resource Center: Access VA loan guides, tips, articles, and expert insights designed to help you make informed decisions at each stage of the process.

What We’re Not

  • Not a lender or broker. We do not originate, underwrite, approve, or fund mortgage loans.
  • Not a government agency. Not affiliated with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), DoD, or any government agency.
  • No control over pricing. Lenders set their own rates, fees, terms, and underwriting decisions. We do not set rates or make credit decisions.

How It Works

  1. Submit your request. Fill out the application on our website so we can understand your VA loan goals and timeline.
  2. One specialist, not many. Your information is provided to one VA specialist, not multiple lenders or loan officers.
  3. Direct follow up. That VA specialist will contact you directly to review your scenario and take your application if you choose to proceed.
