Mission

Sheppard AFB’s mission focuses on technical and pilot training. As part of the Air Education and Training Command (AETC), it hosts training programs for more than 200,000 Air Force, Army, Navy, and international military personnel annually.

The base is home to the 82nd Training Wing and the 80th Flying Training Wing, which operates the Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training program (ENJJPT), providing combat pilot training for NATO allies.
