We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data responsibly, in line with industry best practices and applicable laws.

What We Are (Context)

We are an education and lender-matching network for VA-eligible borrowers, with years of experience helping Veterans and service members navigate VA loans. We are not a lender. Commitment to VA Borrowers: Our core mission is to protect the sensitive nature of military service data while connecting you to vetted lenders. We are committed to transparency in our data practices.


Personal Information We Collect

We adhere to data minimization principles, collecting only what’s necessary for the Services. All information is collected securely via encrypted connections. We collect information in three ways:

1) You provide it

  • Identity & Contact: name, email, phone, mailing address
  • Loan Intent: city/price range, entitlement status, property type, timeline, preferences
  • Self-Reported Data: credit tier you self-report, relevant notes for matching (optional)

2) Automatically (cookies/SDKs)

  • Device/usage: IP address, identifiers, pages viewed, time on page, clicks, referrer, approximate location
  • Analytics/ad tech: events from calculators, form starts, and campaign tags

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies (e.g., pixels, local storage) for essential functionality, performance analytics, personalization, and advertising. These may be session-based (deleted when you close your browser) or persistent (stored until expiration or deletion). 3) From third parties

  • Lenders: Limited, non-credit-reporting status updates (e.g., preapproval issued, closed/withdrawn) are used solely to measure the quality of our matching service and improve borrower outcomes.
  • Marketing/analytics: campaign performance and audience segments where permitted

How We Share Information

“Sale” or “Sharing” for Targeted Advertising

We do not sell personal information for money. We may share limited identifiers and usage data with advertising and analytics partners (for example, Google, Meta) for cross-context targeted ads and measurement. Sensitive Personal Information

We do not request government IDs or financial account numbers on this Site. Our platform is designed to minimize the collection of sensitive data. If you later provide sensitive data directly to a lender, that lender’s policy governs, and we are not a party to that transaction. We do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics beyond providing the Services.


Retention

We keep personal information only as long as necessary for matching, operations, security, and legal obligations. For example, contact data may be retained up to 2 years post-matching. In alignment with regulatory requirements for financial lead generation, records related to matching consent are retained for a defined period for accountability purposes. Aggregated or de-identified data may be retained for analytics.


Security

We apply administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the data. This includes SSL encryption, regular security audits, and access controls to protect borrower information. No system is perfect; please use caution online. See our Security Policy for more.


Your Privacy Choices

  • Access, Correction, Deletion, Opt-out of Sharing: See State Rights below or submit your request to contact@valoannetwork.com.
  • Marketing emails: opt out via the link in any email or by contacting us.
  • Targeted ads: use browser controls and industry tools such as DAA and NAI. We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) where required.
  • Cookies/analytics: Use our cookie settings tool via Do Not Sell/Share My Personal Information, adjust browser settings, or clear cookies. Note: Disabling non-essential cookies may affect features like saved settings or personalization; essential cookies for security and functionality cannot be disabled. E-SIGN and Communications Consent

By using the Site, you consent to receive electronic communications. If you submit a form, you may consent to contact by us and participating lenders at the phone and email you provide, including calls or texts using automated technology. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time. See Do Not Call.


Children

The Services are for individuals 18+ and are intended for use in the United States. For users outside the US, we comply with applicable laws; contact us for details.


State Privacy Rights

California (CPRA): You have the right to know, access, correct, delete, and to opt out of “sharing” for targeted ads. You also have the right to limit use of sensitive personal information (not applicable to our current practices). Submit a request via email or phone below. We will verify requests as required and respond within applicable timelines (e.g., 45 days for access). We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah: You may have similar rights to access, correct, delete, and opt out of targeted advertising. Contact us to exercise these rights. If we deny a request, you may appeal by replying “Appeal” to our response.


Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy periodically. The “Last Updated” date reflects the latest version. Material changes will be posted on this page and, when required, notified to you via email if we have your contact information.
